You Can Write About Chips! is a writing workshop inspired by a prompt by the late Dr. Amber Hendricks that we can write about anything, even mundane objects like chips. It celebrates writing as a form of indulgence, archiving and revisiting memories. When things are moving too fast, we forget how salty our chips and how many bites were just air.

This workshop is an invitation to mindfully observe or reflect on little moments, like an ice cream that fell and you never had, that strawberry milk tucked in your school lunch box, or how water slithers after a good run.

BIO:

Rashid Almheiri
is an artist with a BFA in Graphic Design from AUD He participated in the NPUAE Venice Internship in 2024, 421 Exhibition Guides Program in 2023 and The Assembly at Jameel Arts Centre in 2021-2022. Invisible curiosities spark most of his projects, like the themes of imagination, oral folklore, and memories. Collaging possibilities, merging tales and being surrounded with the youth inspire his playful imagery. He is continuously gravitating towards creating poetic and meaningful experiences.

Shamma Khoory
explores various ways of translating visual culture into written narratives and vice versa, experimenting with the interplay between image and text through writing and photography. In her role as an Engagement Assistant at Jameel Arts Centre, she expands this exploration through storytelling—inviting audience engagement within shifting spaces.
